Ahoy, history lovers. Step back in time at the Maritime Antiques Roadshow, a special Carnivale event hosted by the Low Isles Preservation Society (LIPS) in partnership with the Queensland Museum.
LIPS is inviting members of the Douglas Shire community to bring along maritime artefacts, documents and relics for identification, documentation and storytelling. Whether it’s an old logbook, ship lantern, or sea-worn navigational tool, every item has a story. Come along, explore fascinating relics already gathered from sawfish bills to whale rib bones and courthouse lanterns and help preserve the seafaring stories of the past.
