The Rotary Club of Cairns Sunrise is throwing out the grappling irons for shipmates to join them on a cruise to the Seafood Extravaganza at Port Douglas Carnivale on Sunday, May 31.
Rotary’s Michael Barnett said the fun fundraiser day trip on Reef Magic III was the best way for those not staying at Port to enjoy the atmosphere and splendid array of food on offer at the Seafood Fest.
“Leave your car at home and join the Pirates for a fantastic day cruising along the Marlin Coast from Cairns to Port Douglas and return,” Mr Barnett said.
“We set sail at 8am so you can enjoy breakfast on board (cost not included in ticket), good company, music all day by MOJO, and win some of the fantastic prizes in our ‘Treasure Chest’.”
Reef Magic III will berth right in the heart of the Seafood Extravaganza in the Port Douglas Marina.
“You can enjoy the food on offer, stroll to the markets, quench your thirst and rejoin Reef Magic at 3.30pm for a leisurely cruise back to Cairns,” Mr Barnett said.
Carnivale General Manager Roy Weavers said the Rotary Sunrise cruise was an excellent way for people from out of town to enjoy a relaxing trip to and from Carnivale without having to worry about driving.
“We expect more than 3000 people to come along to the Seafood Extravaganza, and a good portion of those will be from Cairns.”
He added that Carnivale was always keen to support charities and worthy causes, especially those promoted by such a highly regarded international organisation as Rotary.
The return Cruise to Carnivale trip costs $70. Proceeds will help Rotary’s end polio project and the Declan Crouch Fund. Book now at www.trybooking.com/HLVH.
