Tickets are now sold out to modéle 15, the fashion and social event of the calendar year in Port Douglas.
Organisers Claire Tierney and Annetta Tantanis have chosen Niramaya Villas as the location for this year’s event on Tuesday, May 26.
For the artistic duo, fashion is not just in the clothes but in the whole experience, including beautiful venues which complement the modéle events designed to encourage their guests to shine.
Ms Tierney said the event was popular simply because it was a great night out. “It offers value for money, glamour, entertainment, beautiful venues, and everyone goes home with a gift and a smile,” she said.
“This year’s event features fashion from local outlets, online shops and designers, and there is a special guest – we always have a surprise.”
Modéle fashion has evolved since its inception, under another name, in 2011 as a fashion parade with a difference. Every year the evening showcases eight new retail outlets and promotes young women and men on the catwalk.
While the location changes to include different exotic settings in Port Douglas, the evening traditionally opens with a distinctive performance act. Guests receive gifts and prizes throughout the night, encouraging them to be an integral part of the show in representing their own outfit choices.
Every year there is a special opportunity on the catwalk, from recycled fashion, millinery and jewellery to online shops. This year modéle will showcase a local new house design.
Ms Tierney and Ms Tantanis have worked since modéle’s start with three other strong Port Douglas women – photographer Jess Goetze, hairdresser Jennifer Campbell and MC Natalie Johnson.
With their back-stage staff and “spunky’ DJ, they make a formidable team. They are already planning new exclusive events for 2016 to “keep things fresh”.
Follow them on facebook.com/modelefashion for all the latest news, book your tickets at trybooking.com or buy directly from Rose n Boy in Macrossan Street, and join them for a fun-filled, beautiful evening.
“Modéle 15 – the motivation is fun, the dedication is perfection and the results speak for themselves,” they said.
